Applications for 820 MW of energy storage projects announced in Spain in Q4, 2024

More than 182 MW of the battery energy storage systems (BESS) highlighted in Spain’s Official State Gazette (BOE) are for hybridization with existing solar and wind generation capacity.

pv magazine España lists the most notable energy storage projects announced in Spain’s BOE in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Prior administrative authorization and construction has been approved for the 27.46 MW BESS battery storage module FV Revilla-Vallejera Hybrid and its electricity evacuation infrastructure, for hybridization with the existing 44.199 MW FV Revilla-Vallejera photovoltaic installation in Vallejera, in Burgos, promoted by Iberdrola.

An application for prior administrative authorization and construction of 27.46 MW of battery energy storage modules for the Hibridación FV Olmedilla BESS, for hybridization with the existing 42 MW FV Olmedilla solar park; and for the 27.46 MW BESS Hibridación FV Romeral, for hybridization with the existing 42 MW FV Romeral solar park; and for their associated evacuation infrastructure, in the province of Cuenca and promoted by Iberdrola.

An application for prior administrative authorization, declaration of regional energy interest, and an environmental impact statement for the 66 kV, 55 MW/123.328 MWh INCA BESS and for alternative electricity evacuation infrastructure projects in the municipality of Inca, promoted by Our New Energy.

An environmental impact report for the ST Palmosilla 200 MW energy storage plant and part of its electricity evacuation infrastructure, in the province of Cádiz, promoted by Rolwind Renovables.

An application for a project of strategic industrial interest and for prior administrative authorization and an ordinary environmental impact statement for the Agrupación Son Molines BESS 1, 2, 3, and 4 projects, each of 40 MW and located in the Son Morro industrial estate in Palma, promoted by Energy Factory.

An environmental impact report for the 100.2 MW/200.4 MWh Tabiella BESS Standalone Energy Storage project and its evacuation infrastructure, in Asturias, promoted by TagEnergy.

An environmental impact report for the 77.6 MW/340 MWh ST Cerillo energy storage project and its evacuation infrastructure, in the province of Malaga, promoted by Rolwind Renovables.

An environmental impact statement for the Gecama Hybrid Plant project, featuring 250.08 MW of solar generation capacity and a 100 MW BESS facility, plus electricity evacuation infrastructure, for hybridization with the existing 300 MW Gecama wind farm, in the province of Cuenca, promoted by Enlight Renewable Energy.

An environmental impact report for the 50.9 MW/240.35 MWh Glauco Almacena energy storage plant and electricity evacuation infrastructure, in the province of Girona, promoted by ABO Energy.
