Ecoflow launches 286 Wh portable power generator

U.S. manufacturer Ecoflow has released a new 286 Wh power station for outdoor use.

Dubbed River 3 Plus, the portable battery can be expanded with either a 286 Wh module for a total capacity of 572 Wh or a 572 Wh module for a total capacity of 858 Wh. A version that includes wireless charging via an integrated 5,000 mAh power bank, called River 3 Plus (Wireless), will be available in May.

“The product recharges from 0% to 100% in just 1 hour via AC outlets, providing the flexibility to charge fully while packing for a trip,” the company said in a statement. “In addition, its enhanced 220 W solar input allows the power station to recharge in 1.5 hours using compatible solar panels, bolstering its versatility in outdoor or remote applications. With compatibility for car and generator charging, the River 3 Plus offers efficient power solutions wherever you go.”

The battery and extension units all utilize a lithium iron phosphate battery (LiFePO4), which reportedly retains 80% of its capacity after 3,000 cycles. The basic unit features three AC outlets with a total of 600 W in addition to one USB-C port with 100 W. The additional battery units include an additional 140 W USB-C port.

“River 3 Plus delivers protection and reliability for precision equipment with its less than 10ms auto-switching uninterruptible power supply (UPS) feature,” the company added. “This ensures uninterrupted operation for critical devices like health devices, computers, or communication tools during power outages or fluctuations. Its advanced design also minimizes noise and balances output performance for consistent and reliable use.”

The River 3 Plus measures 234 mm × 232 mm × 146 mm and weighs 4.7 kg. The 286 Wh battery has dimensions of 234 mm × 224 mm × 110 mm, while the 572 Wh battery has a size of 234 mm × 224 mm × 158 mm. Its noise level is rated at less than 30 dB, and its optimal operating temperature is between 20 C and 30 C.
